In a remarkable feat of engineering logistics, Express Global Logistics (EXG) recently managed the impressive transportation of massive structures integral to a pioneering green hydrogen project in Saudi Arabia. This logistical challenge involved moving 14 huge structures, each weighing up to 250 tonnes and reaching dimensions of 50 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and 18 meters in height. In total, these modules represented approximately 1,500 freight tonnes.

To achieve this, EXG utilized advanced Scheuerle self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) from their specialized Megaload fleet. This complex operation employed 48 axle lines, two power pack units, and specially designed spacers, allowing for the smooth transfer of each module. A roll-on roll-off (RoRo) approach was selected for eight modules, ensuring easy vessel loading through controlled ramp plates and meticulous ballasting. The remaining six modules demanded precise maneuvers, being shifted to a jetty with SPMTs, where they were carefully lifted by crawler cranes.

The expertise demonstrated by EXG highlights their capacity to overcome unique logistical hurdles using strategic planning and state-of-the-art equipment. In January 2023, EXG entered a strategic collaboration with the renowned Italian logistics firm Fagioli, forming a joint enterprise called Megaload. This partnership significantly broadened their capabilities, allowing them to provide innovative solutions across multiple industries, such as petrochemical and construction sectors.
